Young Adult Partnership Program
Calvary UMC believes that intergenerational relationships are a key component to a healthy church family. One of the intergenerational programs Calvary offers is called the, "Young Adult Partnership Program" or, "Y.A.P.P." This program allows Young Adults (18-30) who have attended Calvary for a year to fill out a, "Young Adult Profile." This profile asks the student about their hobbies, after high school pursuits, favorite things, and interests, and the profile includes a picture of the student. This profile is then given to an adult (age 50+) member of Calvary's church family. The adult commits to connecting with their Y.A.P.P. partner twice per month until their Y.A.P.P. partner's 31st birthday. These "connections" could include a care package, face to face bonding, an encouraging note or card, or communication over phone, email, or social networking. The goal is for a bond to be formed between the generations of our ministry.
